Do you have a sleep schedule, or is it more of an “I wish I had time to sleep” schedule?  Don’t laugh it off–getting enough sleep is critical for work and life.  As Arianna Huffington, self-professed “sleep evangelist,” writes in the following essay for the Telegraph, a lack of sleep factors into errors of all shapes and sizes, up to and including the Exxon Valdez wreck and meltdowns at Chernobyl and Three Mile Island.  Even Bill Clinton (a five-hour-per-night guy) notes that “Every important mistake I’ve made in my life, I’ve made because I was too tired.”

If a seemingly unsolvable problem with your next grant or manuscript is getting you down, maybe the solution is another hour in bed, and another hour to let “the committee of sleep” help you solve it.
