Good News, Everyone!
Success rates for R01 and equivalent awards went up in FY 2016, with R01s hitting over 19% and R01-equivalents breaking 20% for the first time in ten years. This fiscal year, NIH received a budget increase of $2 billion (the largest since 2003) and used the money to award 832 more R01s and 543 more R01-equivalents than FY 2015.
