Pay It Forward Contest Winner

Paying it forward paid off literally for the winner of our contest to post advice you wish you (or others) had known at key points in your career.

Dr. Rachel Bonami , Assistant Professor at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, posted a how-to for making an Early Stage Investigator (ESI) extension request for childbirth or adoption. With screencaps and encouragement, it guides those who have given birth, had a partner give birth, or adopted a child through the process of requesting up to 12 months be added to their ESI status at NIH.

Dr. Bonami’s post has received more than 700 views. She’ll receive $250 for herself and $250 will go to her chosen science advocacy organization, AAAS.
